2025 - 2026 School Start Up

Principal's Message:
As we head into summer, I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for a great school year. This year has been filled with many experiences, activities, and learning. And with your support our students have made it through. I hope summer is full of rest, relaxing and other great activities for you and our students. We look forward to seeing you in the fall and new school year. We are very excited to welcome our new Grade 7’s and any new students to our school community as well.
We know you have questions for next year. Below are important items that you may find useful. After you have read this email if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch. Have a fantastic summer and we will see you in the fall.
First Days of School:

- All new students to OHS (Grade 7’s and new move in’s) and their families are welcome to attend the new student BBQ on Friday Aug 29th at 12pm-1pm. This is an opportunity to mingle and meet with staff, tour the building, and ask any questions before the first full day of regular classes on Sept 2nd.
- Grade 7s will then be dismissed for the long weekend after the BBQ.

- All student timetables will be posted on Edsembli for students to look at starting August 15th. If there are any course changes needed, we can take care of that the first week of school. If a student does not log in and look (or can’t), we will be ready to with printed timetables for students on the first day.
- Students will have the first week of Sept 2-5 to change courses. Please remember that because we are a small school not all options are offered in every block, and we are limited in space, but we will try our best to accommodate.

- We have had enough interest that we are offering both a junior high and high school high hockey program with Method Hockey this year. Students can sign up if they are interested (see attached PDF). We need enough students to make each class a go, and we also know the timing in the schedule may not work for all students, but if you are interested, please register this week.
